PS5 Remake of Beloved PS2 Game Gets Release Date Delay

During the September 2025 PlayStation State of Play, Koei Tecmo revealed Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered, a remaster of the beloved PS2 hack-and-slash game. Originally set to release on March 19, the company announced its release is now delayed.

How long is the Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered delay?

In a message from Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered Producer, Tomohiko Sho, announced the game is now delayed and that a new release date will be announced “at a later date.” Here is what the producer had to say about the delay:

“The release of Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered has been postponed from the previously announced March 19th, 2026.

“As the first remaster of the Dynasty Warriors series, in order to fully satisfy our fans, we have made the decision to further improve the quality of the game. The new release date will be announced at a later date.

“We appreciate your patience as we take a little more time before the game releases.”

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered features enhanced versions of Dynasty Warriors 3 and its expansion, Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends.

“A striking modern revival of Dynasty Warriors 3 and Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends, which established the foundation of the entire series. The complete cast of more than 40 officers and numerous battlefields will be beautifully recreated using Unreal Engine 5. Aim for the peak of 1 vs 1,000 action in this even more enjoyable and thrilling revival.”

This is just one of a few games that have been delayed in 2026. That includes the unannounced Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake, which was a result of Ubisoft restructuring its business.

Another game that was delayed into this year is Bungie’s anticipated extraction shooter, Marathon, which is now slated to release on March 5.
