Sony has confirmed that a highly anticipated successor of sorts to 2024’s massive hit action RPG will be headed to the PS5. You’d think that Black Myth: Wukong successor Black Myth: Zhong Kui‘s PS5 release was a given, but Game Science did not announce specific platforms.
Action RPG Black Myth: Zhong Kui confirmed for PS5, but don’t expect it anytime soon
Interestingly, Game Science still hasn’t confirmed platforms for Black Myth: Zhong Kui, but Sony published a Lunar New Year trailer for the game on its official channel under the “PS5 games” label.
Our guess is that Game Science didn’t want to confirm specific consoles because the game is still in very early stages, and there’s a chance that it’ll land on the PS6 instead.
Black Myth: Zhong Kui is the next game in the Black Myth series, but it’s not a sequel to Wukong.
“Upon completing the journey with the Destined One, we now aspire to take a tentative first step to build more distinct game experiences, to challenge ourselves with bolder features, and to bring fresh ideas to our world and narrative design,” Game Science explained back in August 2025. “Zhong Kui came as a natural choice born of that aspiration and other contributing factors.”
The studio has promised that it’s not yet done with Black Myth: Wukong either.
