A PS5 remake of a classic RPG title officially has a release date, with THQ Nordic revealing when fans will be able to step back into a medieval world.

The remake of Gothic, the 2001 action role-playing game originally developed by Piranha Bytes, has a release date of June 5, 2026. It will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The story of Gothic follows players going on an adventure of sorts in a medieval fantasy realm. In an effort to win a war against Orcs, the king sends every criminal into the ore mines, which subsequently does not turn out well and sets the stage for the entire game.
