Xbox game Halo on PS5

New Xbox CEO Won’t Halt PS5 Game Launches Despite Requests

Microsoft fans have been asking new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma to reconsider PS5 game releases, but that strategy is unlikely to change. Sharma made the mistake of responding to a fan on X with, “hear you,” when they demanded a return of exclusives, but in a new interview, she suggests that’s not an immediate goal.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has been praising successful Xbox game releases on PS5

Frankly, we’ll be shocked if Microsoft reverses course at this point, considering how successful Xbox game sales have been on PS5. CEO Satya Nadella has been gloating about PlayStation sales to stakeholders, and we’re pretty sure it won’t make financial sense in an already struggling business to change that strategy.

“We also know that there are a lot of players who aren’t on console or our hardware, and I want to deliver great games to them too,” Sharma told Windows Central when asked about Microsoft’s commitment to Xbox. “I need to learn more about what that can look like, what decisions were made, what we need to do going forward, and I want a little bit of time and space to do that.”

In the same interview, however, Sharma suggests that she has yet to figure out why Microsoft went multiplatform before she took over and “what the data says about the Xbox strategy today” before making any further changes.

“The plan’s the plan until it’s not the plan,” Sharma concluded.

I think we can comfortably deduce that Sharma won’t be pulling the plug on Halo’s PS5 launch.
