A remaster of a PlayStation 4 beloved role-playing game is out now, and reviews for the game are showing a positive take on the new game.
What enhanced PS4 RPG is getting great reviews?
The remastered version of Tales of Berseria, the 2016 role-playing game by Bandai Namco, is out now. The new updated port is getting some good buzz, too, as OpenCritic currently has the game sitting at an 81 score, with 82% of critics recommending the game. Many reviews praise the game’s updated look and feel, as well as the attention to detail paid on some key aspects of the game.
PlayStation Lifestyle’s Tyler Treese praised the game as “the definitive version of one of Bandai Namco’s best role-playing games.” TechRaptor’s Erren Van Duine also praised the game, calling it “fairly solid, although some minor texture and lighting issues persist throughout.”
CGMagazine also had positive things to say about the game. In their review, they note the remaster “still hits heights few other RPGs can – and packs in a few new bells and whistles to boot.” RPG Fan liked the remaster, but did note that the decision to port a game available on modern platforms as “baffling.”
“Tales of Berseria returns with enhanced playability and quality-of-life enhancements! Join Velvet on her journey for vengeance, along with her cast of eccentric companions, as they sail through the archipelago which comprises the kingdom of Midgand,” reads the game’s description.
Tales of Berseria Remastered is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
