Let It Die PS4 shutting down

Hit PS4 Exclusive Action Game Shutting Down After 10 Years

A surprise hit PS4 console exclusive action game is shutting down after almost a decade of service. Originally developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, Let It Die is set to go offline on September 1. The game, which boasts over nine million downloads, launched for the PS4 and PC in December 2016.

PS4 console exclusive Let It Die is shutting down, but there’s good news

Our readers might recall that publisher Gungho Online Entertainment made a surprise announcement of an offline version of Let It Die last December. At the time, the company said that they’re making an offline port after years of fan requests, but it looks like server closure of Let It Die’s original online version was also part of the plan.

“We have been operating online for over nine years, thanks to the support we have received for our unique environment and gameplay,” Gungho wrote. “Let It Die will put an end to its nine-year online run and go offline. Once the offline version is released, you can enjoy the Tower of Barbs to your heart’s content without any restrictions.”

Some features of Let It Die will be discontinued while others will carry over to the offline version. Players will be able to transfer their save data.

Let It Die is currently free-to-play, but you’ll have to pay for the offline version. For more details on the impending shutdown, check out the official announcement.
