A free PS5 update will go live today for an 11-year-old Ubisoft action adventure game. Back in 2014, Assassin’s Creed Unity suffered from a controversial launch owing to its technical issues, but underneath all the bugs and glitches was a game that players grew to love. Now, we can play it in 60 frames per second.
Ubisoft continues support for older games with free PS5 update for Assassin’s Creed Unity
Credit where it’s due: Ubisoft has done a fantastic job of supporting its back catalog and updating virtually every other game with 60 FPS PS5 patches. From Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry to The Division, no franchise has been left behind.
The lack of a PS5 update for Assassin’s Creed Unity didn’t go unnoticed, however. Despite all the initial hoopla, players had been begging Ubisoft to update the title, and that update finally lands today.
“We know some of you have been waiting for it for a long time, so get ready to re‑experience 18 century Paris and Arno’s fancy parkour moves with more smoothness on consoles,” Ubisoft wrote.
We do encourage PS5 players to give Assassin’s Creed Unity a try now. The game is currently 64% off on the PS Store, going for just $10.79. You can also pick up some free DLC: the Dead Kings add-on and the Underground Armory Pack.
