PS5 Open-World Game Gets Highly Requested Content Months After Launch

Electronic Arts and Full Circle continues its seasonal rollout for Skate with Season 3. Titled Fluid Flashback, the 70s-inspired season will bring new content to the open-world skateboarding game, some of which has been requested by fans since its Early Access launch last year. Players can expect the new content to release on March 10.

What is Skate adding in Season 3?

The darkslide is finally making its way to San Vansterdam when Season 3 of Skate begins. For those unaware, a darkslide is a trick where the skater flips the board upside-down, with griptape facing the floor, and then grinds an obstacle. Skate is introducing several ways for players to flip into darkslide, giving players tons of options to execute the trick at the many skateable spots in San Vansterdam. Like the impossible, it will be available for free for all players.

Arguably, the most exciting news is the return of the Isle of Grom. For those who may have forgotten, this is the tutorial stage players skate around when they first begin their Skate journey. However, Full Circle has made some changes to the island, with its design inspired by the spillways of Skate 2 and Skate 2. New Tasks and Challenges will be introduced to the island, giving players more goals to complete.

While the Isle of Grom’s return is exciting, there is a caveat. Season 3 Premium Pass members will get to skate the location early, beginning March 10 until April 14. There will then be a multi-week event beginning April 14 that will give all players access to the location until May 5. After that, the location will be available through the Premium Pass or via a Water Day Taxi Pass, which costs 500 Rip Chips, an earnable currency from completing Challenges and Tasks. These passes only last 24 hours, so players will have to purchase a pass each day they want to visit the Isle of Grom.

There are plenty of other new additions coming to Skate throughout Season 3. Check out the blog post to see more specific details about the upcoming seasonal content. Here are some of the highlights players can expect:
