An upcoming open-world action RPG previously announced for PC and Xbox consoles only is also getting a PS5 launch. Aniimo is a beautiful “next-gen” creature-catching game that’ll be playable at PAX East 2026 between March 26 and 29.
Upcoming PS5 open world RPG Aniimo will be available for free
Aniimo is set in the fictional continent of Idyll, where players will catch unique titular creatures, meet other hunters, engage in battles, and share stories of their adventures.
“On your journey of adventure, you can Twine with Aniimo and essentially become any Aniimo that you collect,” an official overview reads. “Use the Aniimo’s skills to solve puzzles, win battles, and overcome challenges. The continent of Idyll is expansive and alive with beauty and the perfect setting to capture, to Twine, to find answers, and for the Aniimo to reach their full potential.”
Aniimo currently doesn’t have a release date or window. The game will release as a free-to-play title, and PS5 players can wishlist it on the PS Store right now.
Those who attend PAX East 2026 will be able to get their hands on a demo. Perhaps, we’ll get a release date at the event.
