A new leak from a game’s rating post has revealed that a popular PS5 action game is getting a new, definitive edition.
What popular PS5 action game had its Definitive Edition leak?
Sonic Frontiers, which released in 2022 and had a ton of post-launch content, seems to be getting a definitive edition. News of the definitive edition first appeared from Korea, where The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea (via Gematsu) rated the game. Although unannounced, the game was rated, which usually indicates that the game is coming.
Currently, no platforms or release information were noted, so it’s still unclear as to when the game will release. Sonic Frontiers follows the story of Sonic and his friends, who are left stranded in a new dimension after falling through a wormhole. The game sees Sonic trying to rescue his friends from the dimension after escaping, and fighting against “Titans” that exist there as well.
The game was a success for Sega, and sold 4.5 million copies as of the end of last year. The game, like many other past Sonic entries, received various post-launch content, that added some extra story, challenges, and playable characters to the game.
Should the game get a definitive edition, it’ll be the latest in a long line of Sonic definitive editions. Sonic Origins and Sonic Mania also received definitive editions in the form of Sonic Origins Plus and Sonic Mania Plus, potentially giving fans an idea of what the Sonic Frontiers definitive edition will be called.
