It’s that time of the month when players look forward to the announcement of PS Plus Essential monthly free games, but the April 2026 lineup comes with a catch. Unlike other months, subscribers will have to wait a little longer for the games to become available.
When will PS Plus Essential April 2026 monthly free games lineup become available?
Sony‘s usual pattern is to announce PS Plus Essential games on the last Wednesday of the month and roll them out on the following Tuesday — the first Tuesday of the following month.
April is one of those months where the first Tuesday falls on the 7th, so subscribers won’t have access to the games within the first few days of the month, like they typically do.
As for when players can expect the April free games announcement, that depends on Sony. There is a slight chance the announcement will be made today because it’s the last Wednesday of March. However, the announcement could be delayed to next Wednesday, April 1.
The good news is that one of the upcoming free games has already leaked. As we reported earlier today, 2023 PS5 action RPG Lords of the Fallen will be part of the lineup.
