An intriguing new PS5 adventure game has just been launched on the PS Store, and it’s getting surprisingly good reviews. We’ve had our eye on cinematic narrative experience Project Songbird since January, which promised an “enthralling 4-5 hour narrative.” Looks like its dev made good on that promise.
PS5 game Project Songbird is a short and sweet adventure that costs just $15
Brought to us by Conner Rush of FYRE Games (Summerland, We Never Left), Project Songbird is a first-person psychological horror adventure inspired by games like Alan Wake, Silent Hill, and The Stanley Parable.
Players are put in the shoes of a musician named Dakota, stuck in a haunting, remote Appalachian forest.
“Take control of Dakota, a career musician who, amidst writer’s block, decides to isolate themself in a cabin in the remote Appalachian forest in order to record their next album,” an official overview reads. “Take in this gripping tale, explore the natural environment and haunting dreamscapes, and fight to survive in this short horror experience.”
Project Songbird’s PS5 version holds a Metacritic score of 80/100 based on 11 critic reviews. On the PS Store, early user reviews are positive, with the game boasting 4.57/5 stars at the time of this writing.
Project Songbird costs $15.99. PS Plus users can grab it for $13.49 until April 2.
