A PS3 and PS4 action adventure game, which was first released in 2010, is getting a surprise release on the PS5. We say “surprise” because we’re not quite sure why Darksiders Warmastered Edition is getting a current-gen launch since the PS4 edition is already playable on the PS5.
2010 action game Darksiders comes to PS5 in May, possibly a free upgrade
Darksiders Warmastered Edition will release both physically and digitally on the PS5 on May 19, 2026, for $29.99. THQ Nordic hasn’t confirmed whether it’ll be a free upgrade for those who own Warmastered Edition on the PS4, but it’s worth noting that Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition did get a free PS5 upgrade, so there’s hope.
Warmastered Edition will get the following PS5 exclusive enhancements:
- Native 4K Rendering
- Smooth and stable 60 FPS gameplay
- Photo Mode
- DualSense and Activities support
“Experience the classic Action-Adventure on a new generation of consoles,” THQ Nordic wrote. “Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War – the first Horseman of the Apocalypse – stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell. Dishonored and facing his own death, War is given the opportunity to return to Earth to search for the truth and punish those responsible.”
