In news we didn’t expect to see today, a 1992 Sega Genesis RPG is being revived for the PS5 and PS4 surprisingly soon. Originally developed by Telenet Japan, Traysia is being brought to modern platforms by Ratalaika Games and Shinyuden.
Telenet-developed RPG Traysia coming to PS5 and PS4 in April 2026
Traysia will release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on April 24.
The traditional fantasy and romance RPG tells the story of a young man who sets out to travel the world, and his partner, Traysia, awaits his return.
“Dreaming of becoming a world-traveling adventurer, a young boy named Roy left his hometown. Having known neither travel nor battle, the boy’s adventure now begins,” an official overview reads. “Traysia is a girl waiting for Roy to come back to their hometown, Johanna, a port town.”
The story of Traysia is told via five scenarios. New features include:
- Rewind and Turbo functions (the latter speeds up the game)
- Save state
- Screen filters (retro-style monitor, black-and-white, etc.)
- Gallery: view images from the original game’s manual and box design
- Cheats (infinite lives, invulnerability, etc.)
- Jukebox: listen to the 21 music tracks included in the game whenever you want
A price for Traysia has not been announced. The game’s PS Store page has yet to go live.
