PS Plus Essential April 2026 monthly free games have begun rolling out, starting with Japan and Asia, where it’s Tuesday, April 7. After a few departures that gave us more free games in a single month than expected, we’re back to our usual three-game lineups.

This month, PS Plus subscribers can claim Lords of the Fallen 2023 (PS5), Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream (PS5), and Tomb Raider I-III Remastered (PS5, PS4).
April’s free games will go live in the remaining regions at noon local time on the 7th, making this your last chance to claim March’s monthly games, if you haven’t already.
April is the first month of 2026 in which Sony offered only one free game to PS4 users. To its credit, the company announced a year ago that it would focus on offering PS5 games starting in 2026. Despite that, PS4 users have received at least two free games per month until now.
It remains to be seen when we’ll get a lineup that doesn’t include any PS4 games. As we’ve advised our readers previously, if you don’t want to switch to a PS5 at this point and are a regular user of PS Plus, the Extra tier should be your choice as it offers the most value to last-gen players.
