A beloved PlayStation 4 action game will be getting a free upgrade on modern consoles, except for the PlayStation 5.
What PS4 action game’s upgrade is coming to PS5?
Darksiders Warmastered Edition, a 2016 remaster of 2010’s Darksiders, will be coming to PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X|S consoles. Unfortunately for PlayStation fans, though, it’ll cost you to upgrade.
THQ Nordic announced that owners of the PlayStation 4 version of the game can upgrade to a PS5 edition for $9.99. For Xbox One owners of the game, though, an upgrade to the Series X|S version of the game is free of charge.
For those who don’t own the game at all, it will be available to purchase on either console for $29.99. The Warmastered Edition of Darksiders featured upgraded resolution, textures, rendering, and more for Darksiders, which originally released back in 2010. The first game has been followed by a number of sequels, the most recent being 2019’s Darksiders Genesis, a prequel entry and spin-off to the main series.
“Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War – the first Horseman of the Apocalypse – stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell. In the slaughter that followed, the demonic forces defeated the heavenly hosts and laid claim to Earth,” reads the original game’s official description.
