New PS Plus Classic Game Missing Popular PS5, PS4 Feature

Sony dropped a new PS5 and PS4 classic game on PS Plus and PS Store yesterday, which, once again, was missing a fan-favorite feature. PS1 classic Time Crisis launched without trophies, leaving players disappointed.

Not a single Bandai Namco PS Plus classic game supports PS5, PS4 trophies

Time Crisis’s publisher is none other than Bandai Namco Entertainment, which, for some reason, refuses to add trophies to its classics.

It’s our understanding that Sony has left this decision to publishers, but there have been instances where the company has worked with publishers to patch their classics with trophies after launch. This makes us wonder why Bandai Namco classics haven’t received the same treatment. But back in November 2025, Sony’s emulation partner, Implicit Conversions, provided some insight that may explain why the company continues to evade trophies.

According to Implicit Conversions, porting classics is an expensive affair, and some publishers opt out of adding trophies because the feature increases development cost. That said, companies much smaller than Bandai Namco have opted for trophies.

Perhaps Bandai Namco doesn’t see any value in adding the feature.

Capcom is another publisher whose PS5 and PS4 classics don’t feature trophies.

Time Crisis costs $9.99 on the PS Store. Are our readers willing to buy games without trophies?
