A popular PS4 shooter is set to be delisted soon, and shut down shortly thereafter. Call of Duty‘s popular battle royale mode, Warzone, will no longer work on older consoles soon.
Call of Duty’s Warzone mode will end on PS4 following Season 6’s conclusion
In a new post on Call of Duty’s support page, Activision confirmed that, beginning on June 4, 2026, the company will begin “reducing the services for Call of Duty: Warzone” on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
According to the page, Warzone will be delisted from PS4 and Xbox One digital storefronts, and will no longer be available to download. The in-game store for Warzone will also be removed from both PS4 and Xbox One on June 25, 2026, making purchases unavailable.
While the game will be delisted in June, it still will be playable for a bit. Activision noted that Warzone will available to play on both platforms until the end of Season 06 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. While no confirmed date for this has been announced, it’s likely that it’ll end sometime in late 2026, so fans will have at least a couple of months to play Warzone on older consoles should they want to.
For those worried about in-game items, including currency, Activision said that content purchased with COD points, as well as COD points and other content, can be accessed on current-gen consoles in the same console family. Things like COD points and items purchased with local currency are platform-specific items, though, so fans will want to stick with either a PlayStation or Xbox if they’re looking to keep things they bought.
Call of Duty’s Warzone mode will remain available on newer consoles, as Activision readies its next entry in the series, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, to release later this year.
