Classic Toy Story Video Games Getting Remastered for Modern Consoles, Watch Trailer

A classic Toy Story video game is getting remastered. Alongside that, a new definitive collection of classic Toy Story games has been revealed.

Which Toy Story video game is getting remastered?

Digital Eclipse and Atari announced two new releases to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Toy Story. The biggest is Toy Story 3 Complete Edition, a modern remaster of the 2010 video game Toy Story 3, based on the movie of the same name. The remaster will feature an enhanced experience with upgraded visuals, higher resolutions, improved performance, and previously platform-exclusive content that was only on PlayStation 3.

Toy Story 3’s video game was originally developed by Avalanche Software and released in 2010 for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PC. A Nintendo DS version was also released. The game was best known for its Toy Box mode, a mode that allowed players to explore an open world western town that could be fully customized.

Alongside the remaster, Digital Eclipse also revealed Toy Story: Retro Roundup!, a definitive collection of classic games based on the film franchise. This collection brings together five total Toy Story games, as well as 1998’s A Bug’s Life game, into one package. Like most modern rereleases, the collection will include some updated amenities like rewinding, save states, enhanced visuals and filters, and more.

The full list of games coming to Toy Story: Retro Roundup! include:

  • Toy Story (1995)
  • Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue! (1999)
  • Toy Story 2 (1999)
  • Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (2000)
  • Toy Story Racer (2001)
  • A Bug’s Life (1998)

Both Toy Story 3 Complete Edition and Toy Story: Retro Roundup! will launch physically and digitally on October 15, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 1 & 2, and PC. Physical editions will only release for the Switch 1 & 2 and PS5 versions, however. Pre-orders for the physical versions are up now on Atari’s website.
