A highly anticipated third installment in a hit PS5 adventure series has received a promising gameplay trailer following its release date announcement. Asobo Studio‘s Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy serves as a prequel to the first two games, which wooed players and critics.

Publisher Focus Entertainment recently announced that A Plague Tale Legacy will launch on August 27, 2026. Check out the new gameplay trailer below:
A Plague Tale Legacy is set in the year 1334, 15 years before the events of 2022’s A Plague Tale: Requiem.
Players won’t be playing as Amicia or Hugo, however. Instead, we’re playing as Sophia, “a fierce young plunderer, on the run and determined to uncover the secrets of her past.”
“Sophia’s journey leads to the Minotaur Island, where she faces deadly trials, navigates treacherous trails, solves puzzles, all while fighting and staying one step ahead of the army chasing her,” an official overview reads. “But the true challenge awaits, as the terrifying creature hidden behind the myth will soon resonate with her…”
Those who’ve played Requiem will be familiar with Sophia, a character who befriends Amicia.
