A brand-new PS5 action game is out today. The new release puts a Lovecraftian twist on a classic genre.
The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu is available to check out now
ACE Team and Nacon’s The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu is a four player co-op game where players search for treasure. While searching, though, players must try and avoid Lovecraftian horrors that exist within a hostile jungle.
The game is available for now on the PS Store for $29.99, with a Deluxe Edition also available for $39.99, and including a couple of extra items like in-game cosmetics and an extra mission.
“Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft‘s oppressive atmospheres, the game features a deep madness system that makes the cursed jungle play with your perception. Unpredictable threats distort your senses, blur the line between reality and illusion, and sow paranoia within your group,” reads the game’s official description.
“Aboard the galleon, prepare for your next expedition. Sign a contract with the captain to receive gear in exchange for the treasures you bring back, split weapons and equipment among your party, and choose which area of the jungle to explore next. The further you venture, the greater the dangers you will face.”
