The Lord of the Rings: War in the North Legacy Edition launches on PS5 with co-op and modern upgrades
The Lord of the Rings: War in the North – Legacy Edition allows old and new fans to experience the co-op gameplay for up to three players online or two players in the local split-screen mode.
The relaunch also includes enhancements, such as UI/UX optimizations like visible Health, Mana, and EXP bars for party members. Additions and enhancements for modern consoles have also been added. With these, gamers can enjoy modernized support and trigger secrets to reveal other characters’ secrets, such as hidden supplies.
These new upgrades comprise refined enemy targeting, a new autosave feature, gyro control support on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, and 60 FPS gameplay. However, although these features are available on the Nintendo Switch as well, local co-op and 60 FPS gameplay are not supported on this console. It also includes numerous bug fixes from previous player feedback.
The remastered version also includes some key features, such as a co-op experience with deep RPG progression, iconic cameos and locations, and a darker Middle-earth full of peril. It also has a new feature called Hot-Swapping. This allows players to swap between characters on the fly and fully assign equipment, skills, and abilities to computer-controlled allies.
