PS5 multiplayer game SplitGate 2 Arena Reloaded

Another PlayStation 5 Multiplayer Game Loses Support Within a Year

Another promising PS5 and PS4 multiplayer game is ending active development within a year, possibly making its trophies unlockable on short notice. Developed by 1047 Games, SplitGate 2 was troubled from the start. Its December 2025 relaunch as Arena Reloaded breathed new life into the game, but only for a short period of time.

Promising PS5, PS4 multiplayer game Splitgate 2 / Arena Reloaded losing dedicated servers in September 2026

SplitGate 2 will end development next week on September 3. Like the original, dedicated servers and matchmaking will be shut down, but the game will remain playable via peer-to-peer servers. This means that players will be able to host matches, find games, and play with friends.

When the original SplitGate was moved to P2P servers, its trophies could no longer be unlocked. There’s a possibility that SplitGate 2 will meet the same fate, so if you have a trophy or two left to unlock, now is a good time to work on them.

It looks like 1047 Games plans to move away from live service projects going forward.

“After ten years of focusing on live service shooters, our focus is changing,” the studio said in a statement. “What we build next may look very different from what people expect from 1047 Games, but what has not changed is why we are here: we love making games. We have learned a lot over the years, and we will carry those lessons into what we build next.”
