Stunning PS5 Open World Action Game Gets Release Date

Starfield, Bethesda’s latest game that originally launched as an Xbox exclusive, is officially making its way to the PlayStation 5, and now has a release date.

When does Starfield release on PS5?

Starfield will officially launch on PlayStation 5 on April 7, 2026, alongside what Bethesda is calling the biggest update the game has seen since its launch, in the form of the game’s Free Lanes update.

The PS5 version of Starfield will not only be the first time players can check it out on Sony’s console, but it will also fully support the features of the PS5. The game will support the DualSense controller’s light bar and adaptive triggers, and will feature various graphics options on the PlayStation 5 Pro.

Alongside the news of the PS5 version’s release date, Bethesda also revealed the Free Lanes update and upcoming Terran Armada DLC. The Free Lanes update includes a big update to space travel in the game, including letting players freely travel between planets in any direction. A new resource, X-Tech, will also be added into the game, and allow players to customize their entire set of weapons, gear, and ships even more.

Outposts have also gotten a change in the game, with shared Outpost containers, Outpost pets, and more available. New ship modules, side quests, and more were also added into the game. The Terran Armada DLC, which will cost $9.99, adds a brand new story and companion into the game, with players having to go up against the Terran Armada, a new threat that’s entered into the systems
