After almost a decade, Grasshopper Manufacture’s beloved multiplayer PS4 game, Let It Die, is going offline today. However, those who want to continue playing the hack-and-slash title can do so with the developer’s latest update. Following a new update, the free-to-play title is available to play offline on PC and console.
In its latest patch notes, publisher GungHo Online Entertainment has notified players about discontinuing online support. In its place, players can purchase the Let It Die: Offline Key DLC on Steam and PlayStation 4 for $19.99. Those who do so can continue with transferring existing files to the offline version. However, the save transfer function will only be available until November 30, 2026.
The offline edition ensures the fight isn’t over
Let It Die’s online service is ending, but that doesn’t mean players will have to move on from it any time soon. The offline key DLC also comes with new updates, including new equipment, quests, increased fighter limit break cap, improved enemy balance, and more. All wait times for equipment development, purchases, and facility upgrades have also been removed. The update also includes up to a 75% reduction in the materials required for development through Tier 4.
Since its release, Let It Die has sold over nine million copies worldwide. The game also received a sequel, called Let It Die: Inferno, which was released in 2025. While the sequel was not a critical hit, the first game remains quite popular among players.
Let It Die includes elements from many genres, including survival mechanics, soulslike combat, asynchronous PvP multiplayer, and more. It boasts a voice cast that includes Jukka Hilden, Mark Hamill, Daveigh Chase, Verne Troyer, and Traci Lords.
The game is available on PC and PS4, and is playable on PS5 via backwards compatibility.
