Study Indicates Over 50% of Kids Under Eight Have Played Console Games

It looks like gamers are getting their start pretty young, as a recent report indicates that half of all kids under the age of eight have played video games on consoles.

The study was conducted by Common Sense Media, and claims that a total of 51 percent of American children eight or younger have played a console game at least once over the course of their short existence.

If you break up the numbers even further, the study shows that 44% of kids between two to four years of age  have played a console game, while a whopping 81% of kids between five and eight fit into the same group.

If anything, this is a clear indication of the prominent role that digital entertainment has been taking in the lives of youngsters. As technology continues to grow and expand, the more and more popular entertainment in this medium will be with our youth.
