Namco Bandai has released a new trailer that reveals details about Soulcalibur V‘s story and released some new screenshots of fighters in the game as well.

The trailer shows Patroklos, who is informed by Z.W.E.I. that he’s worthy of wielding Soulcalibur. Patroklos says he’s never heard of it and then is informed by Zwei that it’s supposed to stop the calamity brought on by Soul Edge. A brief glimpse of Tira is shown, then Z.W.E.I. is heard telling Patroklos about the “Azure Knight” who wields Soul Edge (Nightmare), who Patroklos believes is a fairy tale to keep people from going after Soul Edge. We also see Patroklos’ sister, Pyrrha, fighting Nightmare. Then, Z.W.E.I. tells Patroklos that if he wants to stay, he must vow to fight Nightmare. Next, Someone talks about not killing her people’s hope for the future. A town is shown with combatants in the heat of battle, with Pyrrha telling someone “You’ll have to go through me, first!” Finally, Patroklos is shown and he says something about “taking back the seventeen years that we’ve lost.”

The screenshots released show roster members Cervantes, Mitsurugi, Nightmare, Patroklos, Pyrrha, Siegfried, Viola, and Z.W.E.I.
