Rumor: Major PS3 Announcement Set for May 2nd

April 17, 2012 Written by Alex Osborn

E3 is on the not too distant horizon, bringing with it all sorts of exciting new announcements. Ironically however, it looks like Sony isn’t remaining all that tight-lipped in the months leading up to the expo, as a major PS3 announcement is believed to be unveiled on May 2nd.

According to French website JeuxVideo, a brand new game will be revealed and the first footage showcasing the title will be streamed live. Aside from that all too brief tease, we know nothing else about what this could be. Sony is also revealing something this Thursday after having released a Facebook teaser that looks very God of War like.

Other candidates include Quantic Dream’s next title, although it seems a bit too soon after Kara, Guerrilla Games’ new IP or Killzone game, SCEE’s secret Move title, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, or something entirely new. Fortunately, we only have a couple of weeks of waiting ahead of us until we find out what it is. Be sure to let us know what you think the reveal might be in the comments below.
