Should You Buy Sony’s Recent PS3 HD Collections?

inFamous Collection

What is it? The inFamous Collection contains the complete story of gritty-voiced messenger turned superhero, Cole MacGrath. Both inFamous, and inFamous 2 are included, as well as the downloadable, Move-enabled “expansion” inFamous: Festival of Blood.

You should buy the inFamous Collection if: …you bought a PS3 after these games released, or just so happened to be pre-occupied with other games when they first did. Of these Collections, this is the only one that features two full retail games and a downloadable digital expansion that released on the PS3 only. Both inFamous and inFamous 2, as well as inFamous: Festival of Blood are excellent games, and great examples of must-play PS3 exclusives. You’re definitely a good fit if you enjoy open-world actions games, like a little spark in your life, are into motion-comic cutscenes, and can appreciate a good plot twist.

You should NOT buy the inFamous Collection if: …you are indecisive. Morality plays a major role throughout each game, and your actions can make you a good Cole, or a bad Cole. Being open-world games, each title requires more time to complete than most with a lot of extras to be discovered for the explorer-types. This can be both a good thing and a bad thing, depending on what games you have in your backlog, or if you lack a lot of free time to game. Of course if you already own these titles, there is little reason to pick them up a second time.
