Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Isn’t a Day 1 Digital Title on the PSN

For everyone who was currently holding out for a last minute announcement that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance would be a day 1 digital title on the PlayStation Network, we have some bad news.

Replying to a comment on the EU PS Blog that asked whether or not we’d see Revengeance on the PSN this week, Fred Dutton, SCEE Blog Manager, dashed our hopes with his response:

Alas, Metal Gear Rising won’t be getting a day 1 digital release.

This answer may have only appeared on the European blog, but we’ve found no evidence to suggest that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is coming to the North American PSN tomorrow. We’ve reached out to Konami for information on when we might see MGR on the PSN and we’ll let you know what we hear back.

In that same reply, Fred also detailed that he has no news on Tomb Raider hitting the PSN day 1, so we’ve also reached out to Square Enix about the status of Lara’s adventure and we’ll update you on that as well.

Anthony’s full review of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be published early tomorrow and it’s something you’ll definitely want to read.

Were you planning on buying Revengeance through the PSN and now must get it in stores? Let us know in the comments below.
