Rumor: New Batman Game To Be Announced At E3, “Batman Arkham Origins”

Rocksteady Studios has had a solid history thus far with Batman games – they have released the critically acclaimed Batman Arkham Asylum and the award winning sequel Batman Arkham City. Now, rumors are pointing to Rocksteady continuing the franchise this fall.

The rumor comes from French gaming site Gameblog, who claim that Rocksteady is working on the next Batman game, reportedly called Batman Arkham Origins. The game will be a prequel to the existing series and is rumored to include other members of the Justice League, specifically Superman and the Green Lantern, with the characters inspired by the Silver Age of comics (mid-1950s to 1970). The report states the game will be officially unveiled at E3 this year, will be released in the third quarter of 2013, and will also be scheduled for the PS4 and the next Xbox.

What are your thoughts on a prequel to the Arkham series? Do you want more characters from the Justice League or would you prefer it to be strictly Batman? Let us know in the comments.
