Rumor: Warner Bros. Register Numerous Arkham Domains, Arkham Universe Included

It’s been a long time since we’ve last heard from Rocksteady’s Dark Knight, with last year’s Batman iterations coming to us in the form of Christopher Nolan’s latest film and a LEGO game featuring the World’s Greatest Detective, not to mention the fairly lackluster “Harley’s Revenge” DLC for Arkham City. Recent findings indicate that Warner Bros. may be getting ready to reopen Arkham’s gates.

MarkMonitor, the domain manager for Warner Bros., has registered the following domain names:

arkhamuniverse.com (Arkham Universe)

batmanarkahmuniverse.com (Batman Arkham Universe)

batmanarkhamarises.com (Batman Arkham Arises)

batmanarkhambegins.com (Batman Arkham Begins)

batmanarkhamdarkknight.com (Batman Arkham Dark Knight)

batmanarkhamknight.com (Batman Arkham Knight)

batmanarkhamlegend.com (Batman Arkham Legend)

batmanarkhamlegends.com (Batman Arkham Legends)

batmanarkhamnight.com (Batman Arkham Night)

batmanarkhamorigins.com (Batman Arkham Origins)

batmanarkhamstories.com (Batman Arkham Stories)

darkknightarkham.com (Dark Knight Arkham)

dcarkhamuniverse.com (DC Arkham Universe)

dcarkhamverse.com (DC Arkhamverse)

thearkhamuniverse.com (The Arkham Universe)

Keep in mind that this is not a confirmation of anything specific and could simply be to protect Warner Bros.’ intellectual property. However, it could also indicate the future of Arkham in either film or video game form. We previously reported that Rocksteady may be looking to the silver age of comics for a 1950’s style prequel to their popular Arkham titles, which some of the domain names listed seem to be consistent with.

Where do you want Rocksteady’s next Batman title to be set? Do you want to see a further expansion of Arkham in something like Arkham Universe, or are you excited about the classically stylized Batman that has been previously rumored to be in the works? What about an Arkham themed movie? While we’re not likely to hear anything further on this rumor for a while, keep it tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle while we keep our ears to the ground for any more information.
