Shuhei Yoshida “Loves” From Software, is Already on His Second Dark Souls II Run

During Sony’s E3 2014 press conference, Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida said on stage that From Software’s new PlayStation 4-exclusive game, Bloodborne, is something that’s “close to this heart.”

In our video chat with Yoshida, we asked him what he meant by that and he said, “personally, I love From Software,” and adds that he’s “played through” Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls and Dark Souls II. If that cycle of gaming pain isn’t enough, he also shared that he’s started his second run in Dark Souls II, which I can safely say isn’t for everyone.

Continuing with Bloodborne, Yoshida explains that it’s a new IP and not a sequel to Demon Souls; but that it has a “common feel” to other Souls games, and is both “challenging” and “beautiful.”

If you’ve been keeping tabs on Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida on Twitter, you’d know he’s a real gamer and not just a “suit” acting as one. I gather him doing a second run in Dark Souls II should net him a lot of gamer cred since even finishing the action-RPG once required patience and a ton of work.

Make sure to check back within the week for our complete video chat with Yoshida where he talks about why PlayStation 4 games are getting delayed, third-party relations and a lot more.
