PS Vita Selling Out, Sony Working on Replenishing Supply to Meet Demand

The PlayStation Vita might have had a slow start and may not be as popular as its predecessor, but it seems to be heading in the right direction. A Sony representative has announced that demand for the handheld has increased globally, and that the company is working to replenish stock.

Speaking to Polygon, the representative said:

We’re seeing healthy consumer demand for PS Vita globally, particularly in markets like Japan. The U.S. launch of the slimmer and lighter PS Vita has generated strong interest among gamers, and we’re working to replenish supply here to ensure continued momentum leading into the holidays.

This is good news for not just Sony, but also PS Vita owners who are likely to benefit from the console receiving increased attention from developers if sales continue to rise.

In our recent episode of Bad Gamers, we talk about the future of PS Vita and the direction it may take. We’ve also recently reported that sales of the PS Vita TV saw an increase between June 23 and June 29.

Have you seen PS Vitas in your local video game shop lately?
