Fallout 4 Far Harbor DLC to Be Bigger Than Oblivion’s Shivering Isles, Survival Mode Nearing Beta

Fallout 4‘s upcoming Far Harbor DLC is shaping up to a hefty expansion.

Earlier this week, Game Director Todd Howard revealed that the add-on — the third and final slice of content included in the Season Pass following Automatron and Wasteland Workshop — will be bigger than Skyrim‘s Dawnguard DLC.

But going one step further than that, Bethesda’s own Pete Hines noted that Far Harbor is bigger in size than Oblivion‘s acclaimed Shivering Isles expansion — even if it doesn’t contain quite as much content

In related news, there’s also word of Fallout 4‘s Survival Mode entering a Steam beta starting next week, indicating that a release shouldn’t be too far away after all.

As for the Far Harbor, see what you can glean from the expansion’s official description.

A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.

Following the release of Automatron and Wasteland Workshop, Far Harbor is expected to hit Fallout 4 during the summer.
