Update 2:

2-step verification is coming, Sony has confirmed.

Additionally, a Twitch app is now available to download from the PlayStation Store worldwide. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Watch live and recorded video of top games, players, and esports events
  • Follow channels and games you want to keep tabs on
  • Discover new PlayStation broadcasters through a featured section, as well as a variety of streamers across the platform

Update:

Sony may have added 2-step verification support with the new update, but nothing’s officially announced yet:

Original Story:

Coming three months after update 4.78, PlayStation 3 system software update 4.80 is now available to download.

Unfortunately, neither the US or UK PlayStation sites have updated, so it remains to be seen what PS3 update 4.80 includes, though stability is probably a safe bet.

You can download the new firmware update through the internet from the UK or US PlayStation sites, with 4.80 appearing to require 197MB of space.

Did you notice any changes with the new PS3 update?
