An episodic “storytelling video game of dark horror and desperate survival,” A Haunting: Witching Hour from Enyx Studios is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR, PC, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive.

Inspired by true events, A Haunting: Witching Hour will be playable in virtual reality and non-virtual reality, and Enyx Studios says it will have the “most emotional ending in a video game to date.” With each new episode set to be released as DLC, picking up right where the previous episode’s cliffhanger left off, here’s what to expect from the first two episodes:

Episode One begins in 1975, following John Beaumont and the events that occurred on October 10. While showing his family’s mines to potential buyers, the entire group goes missing. Several weeks later, after almost calling off the search, local police stumbled upon the bodies of the two buyers. John Beaumont was never found. Players take on the role of John Beaumont and fight for survival through the horrific events that occurred on the night of October 10, 1975.

Episode Two begins with the arrival of the film crew. Players take on the role of Eddie, a character with a checkered past. Soon after arriving in Shady Hollow, Eddie begins to see visions of things that happened in the past. The episode starts off with Eddie being found along a lonely road by police. The police bring Eddie in for questioning in regards to the whereabouts of the remaining film makers. As Eddie tells his story, players are taken to that point in the story and play through what happened at that point.

The description goes on to say that the PS4 and PSVR help the story come to life through “realistic graphics, spatial audio, and a ground-breaking character control system.” It adds that you’re forced to survive the cursed town of Shady Hollow, piecing together hidden secrets in the process.

A firm release date and price for A Haunting: Witching Hour will be announced in the future.
