E3 2017 – Naughty Dog Explains Why The Last of Us Part II Isn’t At E3 2017

While we received new looks at God of War, Marvel Spider-Man, Days Gone, and more at Sony’s E3 2017 press conference last night, The Last of Us Part II from Naughty Dog was noticeably absent. Writing on Twitter, Director Neil Druckmann explained that the focus right now is on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy:

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy releases on August 22 for PlayStation 4, and you can watch the newly revealed story trailer above. On their blog, Naughty Dog reveals that an extended gameplay demo for The Lost Legacy will be at E3 2017, and details on how to watch it will be given soon.

It’s unclear if we’ll get new gameplay at the same time, but Naughty Dog will be talking about The Lost Legacy during these livestreams:

Discussing The Lost Legacy’s new trailer, Naughty Dog said:

As you can see, we’ve had a chance to take the best of Uncharted – the set pieces, the puzzles, cinematic storytelling, and exotic locales – and tell a completely new story with Chloe Frazer at the helm. She’s on the hunt for the legendary golden Tusk of Ganesh forged by the ancient Hoysala Empire, and to find it, she enlists the help of Nadine Ross. However, if there’s anything we know about Chloe and Nadine, it’s that they both keep things close to the vest. Over the course of the story, we’ll explore Chloe and Nadine’s struggle to trust one another.

But they aren’t the only ones searching for the Tusk. The story trailer also introduces our new antagonist: Asav. He’s a calm, calculating, and ruthless warmonger that is waging a civil war in the region. To keep it from falling into Asav’s hands, Chloe and Nadine will travel from war-torn city streets to the depths of India’s Western Ghats mountain range and the ruins of the Hoysala Empire.

Do you think we’ll see The Last of Us Part II at PSX 2017, which takes place in December?
