The Wii exclusive, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, will not be making it’s way to the PlayStation 3, Capcom. Producer of the title, Ryota Niitsuma, explained that a port for the game would not be worth the effort.
“…the game is optimized for the Wii system, especially the graphics features, so if we were to port it to PS3 or Xbox 360 we would have to make the game from scratch, and in that case we might as well just make a sequel of the series on those consoles rather than porting it.”
He also revealed that Capcom is waiting for “the reaction of the western market” to the game. This could mean if the game does well here, we may see a sequel or similar title for PS3.
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is said to be in the same light as Marvel vs. Capcom, with similar style and play. The game did sell well in [shal]Japan[/shal], but it’s unclear how it will do here, considering the Wii’s hardcore titles don’t seem to sell well in North America.
