Sony ‘Share’ a 3D Sackboy

You can chalk up one more PlayStation icon as having gone through the 3D rinse cycle, as SackBoy was displayed in all his 3D glory yesterday in a demo event at Evolution Studios yesterday. Though not playable at the time, viewers noted that the 3D specs really did make a huge difference when it came to LittleBigPlanet.

According to Eurogamer’s Rich Leadbetter, there was a much greater sense of depth which made it far easier to distinguish between the three individual planes that LittleBigPlanet is known for.

In the original LittleBigPlanet there can be an element of confusion about which of the game’s platforms ‘live’ on which of the three planes of depth. Stereoscopic 3D puts an end to that, ensuring each of the parallax elements occupies its own distinct area within the 3D space.

Of all the games that are prepping for 3D, this definitely has to be one at the top of the list, not only adding some sensational visuals, but actually making the game better and easier to manage in the process.

We really hope that Sony puts forth that extra effort and makes this a reality for our LittleBigCreators around the world as well. And you thought LittleBigPlanet just couldn’t get any more fun…
