Rapidly approaching its release date, God Of War III has recently gone gold. Since the PlayStation 2 series, the hack-and-slash series has pushed the console hardware to the max. The folks at Sony Santa Monica have shared a bit of info on how massive Kratos’ epic quest on the PlayStation 3’s Blu-Ray disc.

Director of Technology at Sony Santa Monica Studios Tim Moss, has revealed via his twitter, the amount of space that God of War III will be using up on a Blu-Ray disc.

#GOW3 35Gb of goodness. Thank heavens for Dual Layer Blu-Rays.

Amen to that. The magnitude of data which a Blu-Ray Disc’s capacity can hold up to 25Gb for a single-layer disc, and a staggering 50Gb for a dual-layered disc. Last month, it was reported that Sony and Panasonic would be teaming up to bring us an amount which exceeds the 25Gb standard Blu-Ray disc capacity.

We can find out how well Sony took advantage of the Blu-Ray disc when God Of War releases on March 16th for North America and a projected March 19th release for Europe.
