Cross-Game Voice Chat Not a Part of PlayStation Plus

Sony has confirmed to PlayStation LifeStyle that the much-demanded feature, cross-game voice chat is not a part of the PlayStation Plus service.

During E3, the official Portuguese PlayStation website revealed that cross-game voice chat would be arriving on the PlayStation 3, however, the text confirming the feature was taken down shortly thereafter. Sony has now confirmed that the feature will not be included in PlayStation Plus.

Cross-game voice chat was not announced as part of PlayStation Plus. The new offering provides subscribers features such as frequent discounts on PlayStation Store content, free and exclusive access to select games, full game trials, early invitations to select betas of popular games, and new functionality such as content downloads and updates which will automatically be “pushed” to the PS3 system even when consumers are not using their system.

So, there you have it folks. Dreams crushed, hopes ruined, no point of living now, right? Wrong, because Sony of course acknowledge the demand of cross-game voice chat, and it shouldn’t be too long till they announce it.
