Red Dead is “Undead” With New DLC

Despite releasing back in May, Red Dead Redemption still remains one of the most popular titles on the PlayStation 3 thanks to the sheer amount of support pushing the game forward. Thanks to Rockstar‘s ingenious plan of outlining all the downloadable content ahead of time, interest in the game was not only propelled during the announcement, but also for the months to come when the details for each individual pack are revealed. Thankfully, New Austin’s zombie apocalypse is upon us.

The official details to Red Dead Redemption’s “Undead” DLC pack have been revealed to the masses. For starters, John Marston returns as the protagonist in an all-new single player campaign revolving around an infectious zombie plague. According to Rockstar:

“The Undead Nightmare Pack will feature an entirely new mostly single-player campaign that follows John Marston as he tries to find a cure for the highly infectious zombie plague that has spread across the frontier. In addition to this epic new single-player adventure, The Undead Nightmare Pack also features brand new gameplay mechanics, weapons, zombie animals, mythical creatures and even a brand new secret location.”

In addition to the new campaign, the Undead Nightmare Pack will also introduce new multiplayer gameplay elements. Judging from other retail releases that deal with zombies, all signs point to some sort of Call of Duty: World at War-esque survival mode. In any case, the Undead Nightmare Pack will hit the PlayStation Store this autumn for $9.99
