Gran Turismo 5 Still Set for “Before Christmas”

Unless you’ve been living under a rock these past couple of weeks, then you have no doubt heard about Gran Turismo 5′s last-minute delay. With a solid new release date not yet officially announced, many of you may be wondering just when the game is going to be released. A Sony executive has reassured us that the game will at least be released this holiday season.

Speaking with Siliconera, Peter Dille re-iterated what Director Kazunori Yamauchi stated regarding the game releasing before Christmas:

“Yeah, Kazunori came out with a comment that  they are working on a few last things. He apologized to the community, but explained it is coming before Christmas. We haven’t put a date to that yet, but we will just as soon as we get word from him when he’s done.”

With the game’s discs apparently already being stamped, the end is almost in sight for the long-developed title. As we have seen with LittleBigPlanet, just because a game has been stamped onto discs does not mean something else might not go wrong. Sony’s official store does list the game as releasing on November 30th, however, so that may give some customers hope.
