LBP2 Gets Guinness

No, not the beer, although the team could have some to celebrate afterward. LittleBigPlanet 2 will be entering the Guinness World Records on January 17th, for several different world records.

LBP 2 will be setting a total of 5 records between January 17th and 19th at the SonyStyle Store in New York. A small group of fans will be using the lounge there to set the records as the game releases for sale on the 18th.  If you’re in the area you’ll want to head over there on the 18th, because the first 500 people to buy the game there will get their copy signed by Media Molecule! Just go here:

PlayStation Lounge at the Sony Style store

550 Madison Avenue

New York, NY 10022

During the event, LBP 2 will be recognized for the following records:

  1. Most gaming genres in one video game
  2. Most player-created levels in one video game

The team of LBP2 fans will be trying to set these records:

  1. Longest marathon playing LittleBigPlanet 2
  2. Longest marathon playing a platform video game
  3. Most video game genres played in one video game in 24 hours
  4. Most user-generated video game levels played in 24 hours
  5. Most user-generated video game levels played in a marathon

It seems they have these records regardless of the outcome, since a quick search of Guinness World Records reveals that none of them have ever been set. Despite this, you can still watch it all happen on the PlayStation Blog later this week. Media Molecule is bringing out LBP2 with a bang in just 5 days, so don’t forget to check out our review, 7-11 has prizes for you, and get ready for to play, create, and share!
