Back in July of 2010, Capcom announced a “revolutionary take” on the Mega Man franchise, Mega Man Universe. Capcom promised “classic gaming will never be the same”. Unfortunately, we’ll never get to see what exactly they were planning, as Mega Man Universe been cancelled.
No reason was given on the official Capcom website where the cancellation announcement was made. The rough translation basically says, “the game was cancelled due to various reasons, we apologize”. We have to wonder how much this has to do with the creator of Mega Man, Keiji Inafune, and his departure from Capcom this past October.
Looks like we’ll be removing this from the coming soon list on the PlayStation Store Preview, eh?
