While this will likely come as a surprise to no one, recent reports have been circulating the web that indicate a new Killzone title is in the works over at Guerrilla Games.
This report comes from the latest issue of EDGE magazine which states:
The bulk of Guerrilla’s staff (is soldiering) on with the next Killzone installment, [with Senior Producer Steven Ter Heide retaining the position as] game director on the current Killzone project.
It is also interesting to note that the game is never referred to as Killzone 4, but rather a “Killzone follow-up”. While the game will likely still be branded with the expected number, you never know where Guerrilla might take the series.
With rumors that development for the PS4 has begun, it is fair to assume that this next major installment in the Killzone franchise with be a launch title for Sony’s next major console. It looks like we’ll just have to wait a bit longer to find out.
