There were several quality first-person shooters that came out this year, but only one would win our best shooter of 2011 award. Battlefield 3 came up on top with its war-like experience delivered by realistic audio, grand visuals, and teamwork oriented approach to online gaming. For those who mistakenly missed out on the game when it came out in October, it’s now available for a reasonable price.
Amazon is currently selling Battlefield 3 for only $34.99. This includes everything you need to get started, but keep in mind that only pre-orders received the Back to Karkand DLC pack for free. Also, shipping is provided at no cost, so what you see is what you pay (unless you want faster shipping).
More downloadable content, including maps and weapons, is in the works according to DICE so this game will have long legs heading into 2012. Pick it up and see why people are calling it the most lifelike war simulator to-date.
