Ken Levine: BioShock Vita Is Not BioShock Infinite Port

Ken Levine has revealed that BioShock for PS Vita is not a port of upcoming title BioShock Infinite and talked about why he doesn’t discuss the game very much.

In an interview with Joystiq, Levine said that BioShock Vita “is something completely different we’re crafting” and said it is not a port of Irrational’s upcoming FPS, BioShock Infinite.

When asked about when more details on BioShock Vita might be revealed, he said:

Look, we’re working on it. We’re trying to figure that [announcement timing] out. I ideally wouldn’t have talked about the Vita game when I did. It was understandably important that, you know, Sony wanted us to share that information.

I think it’s important that people know that a lot of big developers are very committed to the Vita and making that successful, but generally I like to go out with something to show.

I’d much rather come out with, ‘Hey! Here it is.’ Because what I describe is not really meaningful, it’s what the experience is and what people perceive [from] the experience.

Levine said during the interview that he prefers not to talk about BioShock Vita, because the franchise creator would rather have something to show from the game, as opposed to just talking about it.

If there are any details on BioShock Vita, PSLS will keep you posted.
