Skullgirls Releases On PSN April 10th, Demo Coming, 8th Roster Member Revealed

Reverge Labs has announced the release date for PSN fighter Skullgirls, in addition to releasing details about the game’s demo.

On the PS Blog, Reverge Labs Designer/Producer/Community Manager Peter Bartholow announced that Skullgirls will be arriving on the PlayStation Store in North America on April 10th for $14.99. A European release will follow in the coming weeks.

The game will have a demo/trial version, which has the following features: two fighters (Filia and Cerebella), a shortened Arcade Mode with three battles against the CPU, local versus play which is limited to duo teams, four tutorials, and a Practice Room mode. No date for the demo was revealed.

Bartholow also revealed the game’s eighth and final fighter for the main game, Double. Screenshots and a trailer of her in action can be seen below. (More fighters will be added to the game via DLC.)

Finally, Bartholow announced that Autumn Games is sponsoring tournaments throughout the spring and summer that will have tournament winners receiving a custom FoeHammer Skullgirls fight stick. The fight stick can be seen in the Media Gallery below.

The four tournaments announced thus far are listed below, with more to be announced on the Skullgirls web site:

  • Texas Showdown Championships : Houston – April 6-8
  • PowerUp : Cincinnati – April 13-15
  • Stunfest : Rennes, France – April 13-15
  • ESC – The Elite Series at Wizard World Toronto Comicon : Toronto – April 14-15
